2022 Event Calendar Archive

The 2022 Schedule has been released, and of the 50 meetings in total I will be attending and racing at 15 of them (started out as 22, but some got cancelled, I didn't qualify, or I was ill) - not bad for a first season. It works out to 11 shale meetings and 4 tarmac, plus the training day on 27th Feb at Skegness.

1 - 5th March - Northampton Shale Winternationals - Meeting cancelled due to bad weather.

4 - 26th March - Northampton Shale GP1 NMQR W&Y WoS - I stuffed it in the tyres and broke the gearbox.

6 - 10th April - Northampton - I swapped from Mildenhall on the 9th to Northampton on 10th to give a bit more time repairing it. So glad I did as I finished my first heat race!

8 - 18th April - Bradford Shale GP1 W&Y NCQR WoS - Got tipped into the tyres and trashed the steering.

10 - 7th May - Skegness Tarmac GP2 NCQR - Loads of great practice and finished Heat 1. Got spun in heat 2 and collected by another car ripping off the front corner - literally!

20 - 18th June - Ipswich Tarmac Incarace / Spedeworth Cup GP3 NCQR - Liked the track and speed, but no so good on results DNF, DNS, DNF, but no damage (well, a bent wheel)!

22 - 25th June - Northampton Shale Northern & Midlands Championship GP2 WoS - DNF, DNF, finished!, DNF.

23 - 9th July - Northampton Shale Northampton Championship GP3 WoS - DNF, DNF, Finished!

30 - 6th August - Mildenhall Shale GP4 NCQR WoS - My first hat trick of finishes! Woohoo!

33 - 13th August - Kings Lynn Shale GP5 NCQR WoS - A first visit as a driver to my favorite track, and another three finishes - Woohoo!

36 - 28th August - Hednesford Tarmac GP5 - A first visit, and another three finishes!

39 - 17th September - Kings Lynn Shale Kings Lynn Open GP5 WoS - Heat 1 great and another finish. Heat 2, not so good as ended up being spun and t-boned leading to me needing a new side on the car.

44 - 15th October - Bradford Shale Protech Challenge GP6 WoS - Brown and sticky, but 17th, DNF cus couldn't see, 17th.

47 - 5th November - Bradford Shale World of Shale Championship GP6 - Turned up, but didn't race as track was slop.

49 - 19th November - Skegness Tarmac Gala Night

Meeting # - There are 50 meetings total. These show where in that total my chosen dates are.

Venue and Date - Self explanatory.

Surface - Self explanatory.

Championship - Which Championship we're racing for - there are a few!

GP# - Grading Period. There are 6 over the year. This affects our roof colour.

NMQR - Northern & Midlands Championship Qualifying Round. These points go towards qualifying for the annual National Championship - the Race for Gold!

W&Y - There is a separate Whites & Yellows Championship for the lower graded drivers. As I start my career as a white top I'll be in this.

WoS - World of Shale. A specific season long shale track Championship.
